Abstract

Introduction: the clinical aspects of septic abortion has been changed due to the use of riskless drug induction methods. This study was performed with aim to evaluation septic abortion in two 70 and 80 decays in Hamadan Fatemieh hospital. Methods: This cross - sectional study was performed on 428 patients with septic abortion who were had referred to Hamadan Fatemieh hospital in the 70s and 80s decades in 2013. Data of the patients included age, clinical syndromes, clinical symptoms, complications and the treatment methods. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS statistical software (version 17). Results: Most age group referred in the 70's was 35-40 years, and in 80s, 30-35 years. The most common clinical signs in both decades were fever along with bleeding or abdominal pain, or both. The most final treatment method in both decades was related to curettage with open cervix. Conclusion: Referring due to septic abortion caused by manipulation and its complications was less in the 80's than 70's that may be due to the use of drug induction methods and safety procedures for abortion and the reduction in the overall statistics of induction cannot be judged.
